Your clip-in hair extensions should last you up to a year or longer, as long as you take good care of them. Care is key when it comes to the life of your hair! Since all our hair is 100% human hair the best advice is to treat it like your own hair. Always gently brush your hair during wear and before you store them away. Always store your hair properly in the zip bag provided, or on a hang-your-hair hanger inside of a carrier. The more products and heat you apply to your hair, the more love it will need. Overall, the better you take care of your clip-in hair extensions the longer they will last. An important factor in expanding the lifespan of your hair extensions is by deep conditioning. It is great to deep condition them once a week (if you wear them often). Also, overnight deep conditioning with a small amount of Argan or Almond Oil is an extra step you can take in caring for your hair extensions. We recommend laying your hair extensions flat to dry on satin or silk.

Avoid dying, toning, or altering the hair in any way.

Depending on the type of hair extension you choose, it’s important to follow our instructions on putting them in. This will help your hair extensions stay secure while adding volume and length to your natural hair. For clip-ins in particular, you may also backcomb the root of your hair (where the hair extensions will clip into) and then clip in the hair - the backcombing helps create a grip.

Whether or not you should consider showing with your hair extensions will depend on the type. Bonded extensions like I-tips and K-tips can be washed with lukewarm water and non-abrasive shampoos and conditioners.

However, it’s best to remove your clip-in hair extensions when showering so that they do not fall out. Putting them back in is very easy and takes 5 minutes or less.
